I am very pleased to share my election platform with you. In this document, I outline some of the topics and initiatives that I see as a priority for Ward 11 and the city as a whole. I have also created an executive summary to give you an overview of what those issues and opportunities are.
My platform is the result of many months of conversations had while speaking with residents at their homes and local events as well as meeting with businesses, community associations and not-for profit groups. I have learned (and will continue to learn) what it is you love about your neighbourhood, what your concerns are and what you’d like to see in Calgary’s future.
My values of accountability, collaboration and forward thinking also helped shape the direction of my platform. I believe we have a great city – things are not broken – but we can always do better, make improvements and move forward in a positive way.
I want to work with you to build a vibrant, inclusive, sustainable community and city.
Ward 11 is a great place to live, work and play. Whether you are just starting out in your first apartment or you are the original owner of your 60 year old home, our neighbourhoods offer a wealth of opportunities, amenities and community pride. In every area we visit, from Beltline to Braeside, Maple Ridge to Lakeview we hear that people love their communities and that they have great neighbours. To me, this is what building strong communities is all about. These qualities are an excellent foundation for making Calgary a more vibrant, inclusive and sustainable city.
I welcome your feedback and questions about my platform – please contact me to share your ideas. As there are many issues and opportunities to cover, I may not have spoken to something that is important to you. If that is the case, please let me know and I’d be happy to let you know where I stand.
Thank you for your interest in my campaign and your support.
